Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the instructional leader in the school, administer the daily operations, and supervisethe activities of the faculty and student1. Direct and control student behavior and discipline, counseling students regarding acceptableschool conduct and recommending appropriate action to be taken when necessary.2. Lead instructional practices with teachers assigned departments during faculty meetingsand during instructional leadership meetings.3. Direct the activities of the staff and students and ensure a safe, orderly, and smoothfunctioning environment conducive to learning.
This includes clubs, activities, class specificassemblies, and special assemblies.4. Develop and administer the annual master schedule, working in conjunction with the principaland department leaders.5. Collaborate with the Principal to supervise and evaluate teachers, supervisors andnonprofessional staff as assigned.6. Provide leadership in screening and interviewing applicants and/or recommending applicantsto be interviewed.7.
Assist the Principal with the development of the annual budget.8. Serve on various committees to represent the high school at the direction of the Principal.9. Implement student achievement improvement efforts. This will include but not be limited toschool improvement plans, professional learning teams, remediation, collection and reporting ofdata as required, and the development of special schedules and testing procedures asnecessary.10.
Implement student achievement improvement efforts including directing the NWEA MAP,developing MCAS testing schedule, including training staff, establishing and overseeing theprocesses related to student progress, data collection, students records, for academics,attendance, and behavioral management.11. Supervise, monitor and support specialized programs such as Alternative School, behavioralprograms, summer school credit recovery, new student orientation program, etc.12. Supervise, monitor, and support personnel in Student Services and Special Education andin the development of 504 plans.13. Assist, determine, develop, and implement plans for staff development for the building thatfacilitates professional growth and enhances the quality and efficiency of teaching.14.
Assist in the completion and submission of all required reports, forms, and data requests ontime to the designated sources.15. Work/meet with other administrators and staff to foster and participate in team collaborationand effectiveness.secondary level interviews.16. Perform other duties as assigned by the High School Principal.
