The Production Control Coordinator reports to the Production Control Supervisor within the Supply Chain department. Their primary purpose is to ensure that all production or manufacturing schedules are on time by coordinating with different departments and outside vendors. Issuing and tracking work orders, ensuring that required material is supplied to the production floor as according to the production schedule.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned)
- Select appropriate testing material, create testing purchase orders and enter data into Business system.
- Collect test samples to send to suppliers/vendors in a timely manner.
- Coordinate testing priorities with production, sales, engineering and quality departments.
- Maintain close relation with suppliers/vendors by following up on ECDs and providing priority changes.
- Keep testing status reports up to date and provide accurate status as requested.
- Work with production, engineering, quality and sales departments and suppliers/vendors to resolve any quality non-conformance.
- Keep current on status of purchase orders and maintain a professional and effective working relationship with vendor/suppliers.
- Respond in a timely manner to ongoing changes to production priorities and customer requirements.
- Review and manage invoices in a timely manner.
- Assist with writing standard operating procedures.
