ATI is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Millersburg, Oregon facility. We are a manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components. Our products support diverse markets and industries such as aerospace. defense, oil & gas, electrical energy, medical, automotive, and other industrial markets. This is a day shift position and will typically work Monday – Friday and will report to the Procurement Director.

The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing and strategically directing the procurement activities primarily associated with capital equipment and other process/manufacturing supplies for all operations at Specialty Alloys & Components. This is a senior level role, intended to help create, document, and deploy best supply chain practices in a production environment. You will need to be comfortable negotiating terms and conditions, overseeing capital vendor relationships and working with internal customers and external suppliers. Responsible for daily interaction with vendors both domestic and abroad, with technical knowledge and understanding of equipment requirements to ensure the alignment with the organization's needs.

In order to be successful, you will have to quickly learn ATI’s processes, have exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), and not be afraid to take ownership of processes. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and being a driven self-starter are included in the skillset of a successful Senior Buyer.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review and process capital equipment and other manufacturing supplies with a focus on providing consistent internal customer service; timeliness response to requests; assist requesting parties with researched information and alternatives, as required.
• Complete ownership and management of capital equipment and manufacturing/processing supplies, negotiations with approved vendors, prepare bidding documents, pricing, payment terms and freight arrangements.
• Collaboration with Plant Engineering and Operations in Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers of capital equipment, including manufacturers, distributors, and vendors to ensure it meets the organization's needs.
• Ensure the business is getting the best value through vendor selection including technical aspects, quality, delivery, and price.
• Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies throughout the procurement process.
• Managing contracts with equipment suppliers, including monitoring delivery schedules, compliance with terms, and resolving any disputes that may arise.
• Work to support process improvements in coordination with all departments.
• Develop and deliver presentations: written and oral.
• Overall, the procurement manager of capital equipment plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization acquires the necessary equipment efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with its strategic objectives.
