JOB EMPHASIS AND PURPOSE

The Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in optimizing product and machine design and maintaining the machinery and processes while providing technical support in the development of new products for production. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, ensure product quality, and drive innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product and Machine Design and Optimization: 

Ø  Optimize machinery and related equipment to meet production requirements and enhance operational efficiency.

Ø  Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and prototype testing to evaluate new machine designs and improvements.

Ø  Optimize material usage and resource allocation to minimize costs while maintaining product quality and production efficiency.

Ø  Research new products and equipment.

Ø  Generate equipment drawings using design software.

Ø  Conduct and coordinate trial tests – document results.

Ø  Create equipment floor layout plans to help optimize floor space, equipment layout etc.

Equipment Fabrication & Assembly

Ø  Assist with design, machining, and assembly of equipment.

Ø  Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality materials and components for equipment.

Technical Support

Ø  Provide engineering support through analysis by troubleshooting mechanical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.

Ø  Improve current processes by introducing new technology.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education / Experience

Ø  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Ø  Proven experience in mechanical engineering roles, preferably within the manufacturing industry. 

Ø  Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, machine dynamics, and materials science.

Ø  Proficiency in CAD software for design and simulation (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)

Ø  Experience with process optimization, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Ø  Project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
