What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator -Extrusion (Night Shift) position at Atkore Plastic Pipe Corporation?
Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Machine Operator (Night Shift) to be based out of Tampa, FL. This person will set up and operate an extrusion machine according to established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. The operator possesses a moderate to advanced understanding of general aspects of the job. Will report to the Manufacturing Shift Lead. Bilingual is a plus.
What you’ll do:
- Measure the dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
- Adjust controls to meet specified measurements and diameters. Record hourly pipe readings such as weights, wall thickness, diameter, and length. Reject products not meeting specifications.
- Ensure production materials are available

Operate and observe machinery during production and
Identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality to customer requirements and quality standards
Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers to achieve productivity and site goals
Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediately

What you’ll bring:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Machine Operator and or mechanical skill set experience.
- Knowledge of steel or manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Previous experience using Tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and basic math knowledge for quick and accurate counting and calculations including Excel.
- In charge of updating the Hour-by hour boards and training Material Handlers to do so.
- LOTO principles
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
