Summary: The Tetra Tech Project Engineer will support the Atlanta group successfully complete projects that include hydrological conceptual model development, model calibrations, uncertainty analyses, coding, data processing analyses, report preparation, site investigations, and interactions with our clients. The ideal candidate will possess an advanced academic degree in civil or environmental engineering and have a research/practical background in hydrogeology and modeling. The selected applicant will work from the Tetra Tech Atlanta office at least 3 days/week in an in-office or hybrid work model.

 

Your Role: 

  • The project engineer will develop model pre- and post-processing software/scripts.
  • Assist in the development of groundwater models in model visualization software (e.g., Groundwater Vistas, Groundwater Modeling System).
  • Tabulate and manipulate of data in MS Excel.
  • Calibrate numerical models via automated optimization techniques (e.g., PEST, Ensemble l Kalman Filter, genetic algorithm).
  • Prepare figures and visualize data in ArcMap Pro or similar software.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Attend client meetings/calls as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in civil or environmental engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of academic and/or consulting experience in the field of hydrology/hydrogeology.
  • Experience in groundwater modeling, including model construction, calibration, and simulation.
  • Experience with groundwater model pre-processing software (e.g., Groundwater Vistas, Groundwater Modeling System).
  • Proficient in coding with Fortran, Matlab, and Python.
  • Proficient in ArcGIS, Arc Pro, or similar GIS visualization software.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
