Data Architect

Position Responsibilities
The Technology Solutions Department is looking for an Assistant Vice President for the Enterprise Data & Technology Team to design and implement best-in-class data ingestion strategies, data mart structures, semantic layers and dimensional models for end-to-end data analytics solutions on primarily, but not limited to, cloud analytics platforms. A successful candidate must be able to gain a deep understanding of the relevant enterprise data models, operational systems and enterprise data warehouse to help design and deliver impactful, strategic data and analytic solutions to uncover enterprise insights and drive business results.
This hands-on role requires critical thinking, enterprise vision and strong technical skills to oversee the development and testing of data analytics projects.
The ideal candidate must be able to perform the following:

• Serve as subject matter expert on Microsoft SQL Server and Azure data platform
• Architect, implement, deploy and support the data marts and analytical cubes
• Understand client needs to align the solution with business requirements and delivery schedule, and manage client expectations throughout solution implementation
• Develop detailed requirements documentation including data model, use cases, design specifications, data flows, acceptance criteria and user guide
• Lead the development process, including planning and monitoring development efforts, coordinating activities with other groups, reviewing deliverables and communicating status to stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members
• Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to standards, responsible for overall quality and accurate implementation of developed solutions and integration of DevOps pipeline
• Oversee the cleaning and transforming of data from source systems into analytics models
• Lead SLA compliance and own performance tuning and optimization efforts of the data marts and analytical cubes
• Maintain a broad and current understanding of data analytics and business intelligence technologies, methodologies and tools
• Manage and build client relationships during project execution, effectively becoming a trusted advisor to the client
• Confidently participate in meetings and manage frequent communications with all levels of the organization including key stakeholders and senior management
• Be very resourceful to proactively identify and engage available resources and subject matter experts in related areas to achieve your goals, with a strong ability to multitask and manage time and priorities under pressure while meeting deadlines

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred) with 7-10 years of experience in a similar role in Financial Services
• In-depth experience in architecting, designing and implementing complex data and analytics solutions with SQL Server and Azure data platform:
• Experience in full data pipeline technologies, including Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance SQL Server, Data Factory, Data Bricks, Azure Logic App, Azure Blob Storage, Synapse and other related tools
• 5 total years of hands-on working experience with Microsoft SQL Server database and Analysis Service (SSAS) cube development and administration
• 2 years of hands-on working experience in enterprise data warehouse implementation in SQL Server
• 2 years of hands-on working experience building automated ETL / ELT or data integration processes utilizing multiple source systems
• Experience with DevOps source control and deployment pipeline
• Hands-on experience with comprehensive dimensional modeling and semantic model definition
• Project experience in migrating On-Premise workloads to the cloud, and implementing cloud-ready data solutions
• Full lifecycle experience implementing data & analytics solutions with a working knowledge of agile development, SCRUM and DevOps
• Experience with Snowflake is a plus
• Experience with Power BI is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft .Net application development is a plus
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills
• Motivated by a fast-paced, growing and complex environment; team-oriented and able to multitask
• Strong data analysis skills are required; experience executing small to medium-sized projects and a general understanding of Project Management principles are desired
• Results-oriented with a high level of personal accountability
