Aegis Health Care is currently seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Consultant to be part of our Atlas team. Atlas Medical specializes in medical billing, coding, and consulting. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm in our Wasilla, AK office with the possibility of working remotely when training is complete. If working remotely, high speed internet must be available.

As a Quality Assurance Consultant, you will assist in completing documentation reviews, complying with medical coding guidelines and policies, and other tasks related to quality assurance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure accurate assignment of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM codes
  • Efficiently review provider communications and documentation to ensure completeness and prompt billing
  • Resolve insurance denials and discrepancies in collaboration with the billing team and healthcare providers
  • Collaborate with the QA Director to lead the implementation of workflow for improved provider documentation and reimbursement efficiency
  • Meet and exceed daily goals and metrics
  • Assist with other consulting needs as projects arise

Skills & Qualifications:

1 year of home health, hospice, or other medical related experience preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks timely
  • Contribute to large work volume with high level of accuracy and quality
  • Service oriented mindset
  • Adaptive problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable automobile
  • Proof of current automobile insurance 
  • Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance
  • Negative TB test
  • Must hold valid coding certification (e.g. CPC, CCS)
  • Outpatient billing experience preferred

Job Relationship:

  • Supervised by QA Director
