What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Consultant - Level II - Part-Time contractor position at Atlas Behavior Agency?
Seeking a Behavior Consultant to serve in Elkhart and surrounding counties providing in-home and community-based services.
You will be listed as an independent contractor receiving clients through Indiana’s Medicaid Waiver under the supervision of the Director of Behavior Management.
As the Behavior Consultant, you will provide direct and indirect services to consumers, their families, their staff, and/or caregivers that is focused on the individuals Person Centered Individual Support Plan.
The primary responsibility will be to help clients identify and address problem behaviors through the creation and implementation of a Functional Assessment and Behavior Support Plan.
The goal of the Behavior Consultant is to decrease maladaptive behaviors by working with the client and his/her team to teach appropriate replacement behaviors.
Consultants are able to maintain their own schedules to meet their specific needs. You will have a chance to build a caseload that works around that schedule.
As a contracted therapist, you will have full autonomy on therapeutic interventions and techniques used to work towards completing individual goals and objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting clinical behavior assessments and development of behavioral support plans.
- Conducting behavior therapy sessions in the home or community.
- Analyze data and track client progress.
- Attending quarterly meetings to report progress with team members.
- Provide ongoing training to family/caregivers and staff on behavior plan implementation.
- Provide timely reports to the Director of Behavior Services and maintain open communication.
- Understand and abide by all applicable Atlas Behavior Agency policies, industry standards, and best practices including the FSSA/DDRS Waiver Manual.
- Collaborate with assigned HSPP on modifications to plans as needed.
- Attend monthly HSPP meeting.
- Respond to crisis situations for individuals served.
- Maintain documentation and client files.
- Promote Atlas Behavior Agency’s mission in the community.
- This is a contracted position, and as such, BC will adhere to contractual obligations.
- This position has a flexible schedule and will require that the candidate be organized, timely, have a working phone, and a reliable car.
Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis, Clinical, School, or other applied health service area of Psychology; Special Education; Social Work; or Counseling.
· Obtain 10 CEUs (continuing education credits per year).
· Submit a limited criminal background check and county criminal background d check with reports of “no findings”.
· Submit license, vehicle registry and insurance
· negative TB test
· Limited liability insurance in the amount of 1-3 million
· 1st Aid and CPR certification
· Prior experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Spanish Speaking is a plus!
