The General Industry Business Line within Atlas Copco Tools & Assembly North America is seeking an elite Automation Business Development Manager who will lead and inspire our sales teams and customers to unlock the future potential of automation in Industry 4.0. The General Industry division serves dynamic manufacturing sectors such as Aerospace, Defense, Consumer Electronics, General Assembly, Agri/Construction Equipment, Green Energy, Appliances, and more. This role reports to the Vice President of Sales - General Industry.

Your Mission: Lead and inspire our customers and sales teams in the transformation journey toward fastening-centric automated solutions in pursuit of the vision of Industry 4.0.

  • Simultaneously drive initial success while innovating processes, structures, and resources to support a foundation for mid-term/long-term growth and development among individual local sales teams.
  • Contribute to business and solution development initiatives with a forward-thinking, win-win mindset. Adopt and share best practices globally, and within local Atlas Copco business lines.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in global initiatives to explore and optimize our portfolio within the rapidly evolving industrial market space.
  • Serve as an influence leader to coordinate and optimize high-performing teams within a matrix organization. Capture team commitments, and constructively drive accountability to deliver consistent results.
  • Generate comprehensive, application-focused presentation materials in support of maximum value delivery on unique customer opportunities.
  • Contribute to the definition and navigation of a long-term roadmap for market success in our automation business goals.

Additional information:

  • Specific location is not required, the Detroit, MI metro area is preferred. Residence near a major airport will offer an improved work/life balance.
  • Travel within the territory should be expected and embraced by the ideal candidate. Extensive travel within the US and Canada should be expected (~50% of working days).
  • International travel may be required several times per year to attend sales meetings or customer summits.

To Succeed, You Will Need:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of selling machine or automated solutions. Sales leadership experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in engineering or business preferred.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts regarding our solutions effectively when solving customer challenges.
  • Influence leadership, presentation, and strategic execution skills.
