The Material Handler's role is to facilitate the movement of all materials through the factory; receive materials in from supplier; put away activities in the warehouse; pick orders for assembly; and ship finished product to customers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort and verify materials count for all deliveries received at the factory.
- Put away materials into warehouse racking and make accurate record of the location.
- Locate materials to pick order for production jobs being started in assembly.
- Prepare materials for shipping by pulling, packing, crating and loading.
- Perform all duties safely and according to procedure.
- Ensure that all materials are accurately accounted through any movement within the site.
- Perform cycle counts.
- Operate powered pallet jacks and potentially forklifts.
Education/Skills:
- High School diploma/GED minimum.
- 1-2 years warehousing or material handling experience.
- Knowledge of inventory control is a benefit; cycle counting, Kanban, order picking etc.
- Forklift lift certified is a benefit.
- Good communication skills and work ethic.
- Knowledge of SAP is a benefit.
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50lbs
