RAILCAR COORDINATOR

A Railcar Coordinator is responsible for directly overseeing a specific production line. The Railcar Coordinator is held accountable for the line's efficiency, paperwork, quality results, and billing.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate predictable, dependable, and timely attendance.
• Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
• Read, write, and communicate in English and understand basic math.
• Learn from directions, observations, and apply procedures using good judgment.
• Working knowledge of general Safety and Operating principles.
• Work independently or as part of a team and interact appropriately with others.
• Coordinate daily tasks to ensure the production line moves efficiently and safely.
• Ensure the accuracy of car billing by confirming that all repairs have been signed-off by operator and inspector, that all part numbers are included and correct and that the customer authorizes all repairs.
• Complete inspections on in-process work to ensure the quality process, hold points, and rework goals are achieved.
• Complete repairs on railcars, and/or assist other team members in completing railcar repairs, within defined efficiency and quality standards.
• Provide as needed training to less experienced team members.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• One to three years' work-related experience preferred.
• Perform/ prioritize multiple tasks with attention to details.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basic drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of FRA, AAR, industry, and customer requirements.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and teamwork.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.

Machines, Tools, Special Equipment, Personal Protective Equipment Used: Welding, torch, hammer, ratchets, chisel, pry bar, wrenches, brushes. Hard hat, steel toe boots, glasses, ear plugs, gloves.

Requirements

• Ability to pass training and required testing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

• Bonus pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Point Pleasant, WV 25550: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel:

• 25% (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
