Position Overview
Our Financial Controller team is central to the firm’s broader Finance function and is focused on firm transactions and controllership.
As the Head of Fund Accounting, this senior director will report directly into the CAO and lead out efforts in all financial aspects of our Fund Structures as related to NAVs, returns and performance, carry calculations, investor reporting and meeting with investors. The individual will work very closely with the business leads, legal, treasury, product controllers, corporate accounting and others on new Fund Structures and business lines. The role has responsibility for the significant overall relationship with large multinational fund administrators and the auditors of the funds. Responsibilities include presenting and meeting with our Board of Directors and some of the largest alternative asset investors in the world.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close process, including completing a NAV package with all the relevant supporting documentation, calculating management and performance figures, assisting with regulatory reporting
- Analyze profit/loss and RORs on monthly and ad hoc basis; report fund performance to investors
- Review quarterly and annual financial statements prepared by administrator
- Work on various model and review expenses analysis and other projections
- Manage a high volume of investor inquiries, reporting, and ad-hoc requests
- Analyze and prepare expense allocations and budgets between multiple fund entities
- Lead discussion with various vendors and third-party providers of services including administrators, custodians, transfer agents and valuation firms
- Identify and analyze daily cash activity for various fund entities and coordinate with administrator and the deal team for activities
- Assist the senior management with special projects and ad hoc requests as needed
Qualification and Experience
- CPA preferred. 10 years of Public/Private accounting experience preferred (Big 4 preferred)
- Strong U.S. GAAP technical accounting expertise
- Previous experience working with credit instruments including, but not limited to, bank loans, bonds, structured products (CLO, CDOs, Revolvers etc.)
- Previous experience training, evaluating, and developing people
- A critical thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills who expresses their thoughts and ideas clearly both in oral and written communications
- A collaborative thinker who can also work independently, multitask, and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive and organized self-starter with a positive attitude, powerful work ethic, strong attention to detail and advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

Base Salary Range
$200,000 - $275,000
