We are seeking an EIR Scientist 1 to join our Loxley, AL team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The successful candidate will work with experienced professional consultants in performing environmental assessment and remediation projects related to petroleum and hazardous waste sites.
Performance of site investigations to support environmental projects, including the interpretation of environmental data and report writing.
Management/analyses of soil/groundwater data, including summary tables, results interpretation, and mapping.
Candidates must be willing to work both as part of a team and independently in the office as well as in the field on small and large projects. Motivated candidates willing to learn and grow within an organization that has potential for advancement should apply.
Minimum requirements:
B.S. degree in environmental science, geology, civil/chemical/environmental engineering or other closely related field.
0-5 years experience in environmental consulting or related field
Must locate to Mobile/Loxley area
Proficiency with Microsoft Office® and Teams.
Excellent task management, written and verbal skills are a must
Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments.
Capable of working independently, under direct supervision of others, and in a team-oriented environment.
Technical requirements:
Ability to document field activities in detail (notebook and/or camera).
Basic understanding of soil/groundwater sampling requirements (various methodologies, containers, laboratory requirements, etc.)
Basic understanding of Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessment requirements.
Willingness to cross-train in other areas, if needed (wetlands, industrial hygiene, etc.)
Ability to travel 20-40% of the time
Other miscellaneous qualities:
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
Willingness to travel regionally for short periods of time.
Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record and Drug Screening
Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines for planning and executing work in a safe manner
Experience with other Environmental, Investigation and
Remediation Projects preferred (i.e. Phase II, Industrial Hygiene and Vapor Sampling)
