Atlas Logistics is hiring a Freight Broker to join their team! The Freight Broker is responsible for scheduling and tracking shipments, keeping systems updated, and handling customer service. This position will work closely with the Pricing team to keep an eye on market trends and overall capacity. This position is expected to cross train to gain a working knowledge of all modes of transportation and understand Atlas Logistics expectations of quality service.
- Find coverage for booked Atlas Logistics TL shipments with a s focus on transportation buy rate and profitability
- Keep tabs on market trends and rates
- Keep systems updated with correct and current data: TMW, AtlasNet, etc.
- Locate and sign-up new carriers and brokers who may provide a competitive edge to Atlas Logistics
- Track and trace current shipments and keep customers up to date with any issues or concerns that may arise
- Work closely with Specialized Transportation Group in order to help find backhauls for the Atlas Fleet to help reduce their deadhead, reposition an dbring in additional revenue to Atlas Logistics
Employment Type & Hours: This full-time position will consist of 40 hours per week. Hours fall between 8:00am and 5:00pm, M-F with occasional overtime on the weekends.

Qualifications
- Effective problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
- Mathematical skills with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good reasoning ability and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of Database, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software such as Microsoft Office is required
- Experience with TMW is a plus
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agents, and other outside organizations
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- A mastery of email communication - keep your inbox at zero.
