Job Supervisory Responsibilities: None

General Summary: Responsible for timely and accurately coding office, radiology, procedure, delivery, obstetrics and surgical encounters.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze chart for coding of patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural information, significant reportable elements and complications.
• Review and verify that documentation supports diagnoses, procedures and treatment
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes for reimbursement
• Analyze medical records and identify documentation deficiencies
• Research, analyze, recommend and facilitates plan of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors.
• Serves as a resource to providers and other billing staff
• Maintain CPT certification
• Maintain CEU’s set by the practice

Education:

• Certified Professional Coder

Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Coding experience in OB/GYN preferred

• Knowledge of CPT
• Knowledge of ICD-10
• Knowledge of payer policies
• Knowledge of CCI edits
• Knowledge of local and national coverage determination

• Excellent organizational skills

Abilities:

• Maintain quality and efficiency standards set by the practice

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.50 per hour
