Set-up Technician I

The Set-Up Technician I is responsible set-up and operate molding equipment and machinery in the molding department following industry accepted best practices and company process set-up instructions. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Set-up molding and automation equipment to best industry standards, with an emphasis on safety and housekeeping, and operate equipment to produce acceptable green MIM product as directed.

• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues for molding and automation

• Recognize variations from proper equipment/machine performance and seek corrective assistance when other than normal adjustments are required

• Assist production employees in the set-up and operation of work stations when required

• Assist in the set-up of first article molding jobs

• Look for new methods and techniques to improve processes and quality of products. 

• Assist in development activities to establish methods to produce required finished parts within specification when instructed

• Perform barrel cleaning operations when changing material on molding machines

• Inspect machines for wear while disassembled for this operation

• Maintain accurate records and logs as required

• Perform routine maintenance of equipment, including preventive maintenance and maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work areas

• Other duties as assigned.
