What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Teacher, Grades K-2 position at Auburn Public Schools?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach classes in Art using a variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional medias and techniques and elements of art and the principles of design
- Cooperate with art teachers and those in other curriculum areas to develop and implement curriculum objectives based on the learning standards of the Art curriculum and state frameworks
- Organize and facilitate student art shows, focus on artistic development in children
- Implement a variety of teaching and assessment techniques (including formative and summative) to ensure student achievement and engagement
- Develop and encourage the creativity of the individual student
Maintain an organized classroom (materials, supplies, art resources)
Cooperate with teachers in other discipline areas to develop a positive and inclusive school-wide culture
Evaluate classroom activities on a regular basis in respect to district/departmental goals
Maintain all attendance and grade records
Accept supervision and guidance from the Fine Arts Department Head and Principals
Continue to grow in the position through attendance at meetings, conferences, seminars, through readings in professional literature and through enrollment in college or university courses
Such other responsibilities may from time to time be assigned by the Principals, Department Head and/or Assistant Superintendent
