Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services to patients of all ages. Your role will be crucial in assisting patients in regaining their independence and improving their quality of life.
Duties:
- Assist in the evaluation and assessment of patients' functional abilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals
- Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises to improve motor skills, coordination, and sensory integration
- Provide guidance and support to patients in performing daily living activities, such as dressing, grooming, and eating
- Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment to enhance independence
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes
Experience:
- Previous experience in occupational therapy or related field preferred
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and modalities
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging
- Experience working with diverse populations, including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
