Job Brief:
We are looking for a responsible Quality Assurance Inspector to check the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products as well as production procedures. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business.
The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential.
The goal is to ensure that our products are made of flawless materials with well-functioning equipment. This way our customers will enjoy high-quality merchandise so that we can achieve long-term success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Self-starter, who can work independently with minimal supervision.
· Willingness to be trained and a quick learner.
· Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, as well as basic math.
· Ability to understand and use basic tools, such as; calipers, micrometers, comparator and Romer Arm.
· Ability to process FAI/PPAP inspections and paperwork for new production parts
· Follow company Quality Management System (QMS) and safety procedures.
· Perform visual and/or mechanical inspection for in-process and final inspections on manufactured parts and assemblies.
· Identify and record any product quality problem(s).
· Communicate all quality issues to management in a timely manner, along with recommendations for any corrective actions that may be necessary.
· Reading blueprints and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards.
· Recommending any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes.
· Removing products that don’t meet production standards and recommending strategies to improve product quality.
· Accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing inspection results with the production team
· Performing inspections at random to assess product quality
Requirements and Skills:
· Proven experience as quality inspector in manufacturing setting
· A manufacturing background in a "job shop" environment preferred; Machinist experience is a plus
· A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
· Responsible and trustworthy
· Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems
· Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
· Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
· Working knowledge of MS Office
· High School Degree; Further qualifications will be a plus
