- Leadership and Management: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Lead and manage a team of software engineers, architects, and technical leads, setting clear expectations and goals for team members.
- Product Development: Oversee the development and delivery of technology products and solutions, ensuring adherence to quality standards, project timelines, and budgetary constraints. Collaborate closely with product management, design, and business stakeholders to define product requirements and priorities.
- Technical Excellence: Drive technical excellence and innovation across the organization, championing best practices, coding standards, and design principles. Provide strategic technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team, helping to solve complex technical challenges and ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, marketing, and operations, to understand business needs, gather feedback, and ensure alignment on technology initiatives. Act as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders to facilitate communication and manage expectations.
- Team Development: Invest in the growth and development of engineering talent, providing mentorship, coaching, and support to help team members reach their full potential. Identify training and development opportunities, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the engineering organization.
- Technology Governance: Establish and maintain technology governance processes and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Implement effective measures for risk management, security, and data privacy across technology systems and infrastructure.
- Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and vendor relationships to support technology initiatives and enhance the company's competitive position in the market. Evaluate third-party technology solutions and services, and make recommendations for adoption or integration into the company's technology ecosystem.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or additional certifications in technology management, leadership, or business administration are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving technology innovation and strategy. Experience in a senior executive role, such as Vice President of Engineering or Chief Technology Officer, is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and best practices. Proficiency in multiple programming languages and technologies, with deep expertise in software architecture, cloud computing, and scalable systems design.
- Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and lead a large team of technical professionals. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinker with a visionary mindset, capable of translating business goals and objectives into actionable technology strategies and initiatives. Ability to anticipate market trends and technology disruptions, and formulate proactive responses to drive business growth and innovation.
