Responsibilities
Job Description:
Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor network performance, availability, and security using network monitoring tools.
Assist with troubleshooting network issues and outages, escalating to senior team members as needed.
Configuration and Maintenance:
Assist with the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Perform routine network maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration backups.
User Support and Training:
Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues, including connectivity problems, VPN access, and wireless connectivity.
Assist with user training and documentation on network-related topics and procedures.
Network Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
Update network documentation as changes are made to the network infrastructure.
Security and Compliance:
Assist with implementing and enforcing network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to network security and data privacy.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Collaborate with other IT team members, including network engineers, system administrators, and security analysts, to support overall IT operations and initiatives.
Participate in team meetings, projects, and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network or Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) are a plus.
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
Familiarity with network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools and utilities.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to analyze network issues and identify root causes.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Willingness to learn from senior team members and take on new challenges.
