Position Description
Assists patient and/or guarantor in determining appropriate financial assistance program or applicable payer source
utilizing various tools and vender resources via a detailed interview process. Minimize uncompensated care, maximize
reimbursement, and facilitate referral to onsite vendors to assist with other eligible coverage. Remains current and
knowledgeable on all state and federal regulations, federal and state poverty guidelines, and third party payer rules.
Provides timely follow-up and resolution to inquiries into the Financial Counseling Department.
Position Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Customer service. Strong communication. Multitasking. Insurance knowledge. Excellent oral and written communication.
Preferred Requirements
Associates Degree in Health Administration or Business and 2 years or more of experience in financial counseling, Medicaid case work, or working with patient eligibility and sponsorship. HFMA, NAHAM, AAHAM, CPC or equivalent.
