HARVEST CELLARHAND
Augusta Vin Winery is hiring for the 2023 grape harvest. We are an ultra-premium, estate winery with a wide range of grape varieties produced.
This position will start August 1st and finish after the harvest workload subsides, which would likely be late October to early November. There is a possibility for permanent employment for workers with a great work ethic and attitude.
Our current opportunity would be based in the winery and likely include lab work, cellar work, and potentially small amounts of vineyard exposure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Processing fruit
· Press operations, de-stemmer and must pump operations
· Sanitizing equipment, chemical handling
· Forklift operation
· Rack and pumping of juice and wine
· Punch downs and pumpovers
· Filling and emptying barrels
· Inoculations and making chemical additional to juice and wine
· Working long hours including evenings and weekends
· Completing and filling out work orders accurately
· Potentially running daily grape and wine analysis in laboratory
· Perform other winery duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Intermediate reading and writing comprehension in English
· Basic math skills
· Ability to work in variable working conditions: temperatures, noise level, humidity, etc
· Punctuality
· Previous winery experience would be preferred but not required
· Ability to work long shifts on your feet and be available evenings and weekends
· Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly
COMPENSATION
· $17/HR
