Auntie M Pet Care is looking for a dedicated part time pet sitter/dog walker/hiker with to join our team. We are an established, growing, professional pet care company providing overnights, pet sitting visits, dog walks, and dog hikes to the greater Asheville area. We’re looking for someone to serve in the greater Asheville area, specifically North and South Asheville.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about pets and their humans, energetic, professional, with strong pet care knowledge and experience. This person would enjoy joining a team extremely dedicated to providing consistent, reliable, and professional pet care.
The Pet Care Specialist will provide services to Auntie M Pet Care's clients ranging from initial client intake (meet and greet), pet sitting visits, dog walks, dog hikes, overnight pet sitting stays, nail trims, transportation of pets to and from hikes/walks, cleaning of pets prior to return to owners, and any other services relating to caring for pets.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Driving to client homes up to 30min from your home (bonus of you're willing to drive a little further on occasion)
- Client meet and greets
- Walking or hiking with pets on leash, on pavement, trails, and up steep terrain
- Cleaning of pets after walk if they become dirty
- Playing/interacting with pets to keep them engaged
- Feeding pets, refreshing water, and administering medications as needed
- Changing of litter boxes
- Picking up and disposing of pet waste, and cleaning up any other messes as needed.
- Pet sitting ranging from 1 visit to 2 nights to 3 weeks
- Providing visits, walks, hikes, and overnight stays in client’s home
- Plant care in addition to pet care for overnights
- Mail/paper pickup
- Clean up after self and pet(s) when in client’s home, including wash and put clean sheets back on the bed prior to end of overnight
- Follow specific care instructions provided by pet owner
- Confidentiality and respect of clients’ personal homes and safety- no unapproved by client additional visitors
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Pet/animal lover
- Experience working with clients in person and on the phone
- Experience working with a variety of pets and domestic animals
- Ability to build relationships with clients and pets to ensure mutual satisfaction
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible scheduling including daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday availability (holiday compensation provided)
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, and have consistency to work.
- Ability to problem solve in a variety of pet care, transportation, and home related situations
- Reliable transportation (your own vehicle)
- Must have a smartphone for scheduling and communication with clients
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of pet care experience is preferred.
- Previous pet care experience (pet sitting, training, doggy daycare, kennel, and/or animal first aid)
- Comfortable with all breeds of dogs. Experience with a wide range of animal temperaments is desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and control up to a max of 3 dogs at a time
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs at times
- Ability to perform pet care services in inclement weather (rain, snow, fog, etc)
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $300.00 - $2,500.00 per month
