The Property Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including performing financial reporting, reconciliations, closing the books, consolidating financial results, preparation, escrow and reserve management, maintenance, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly/yearly financial statements and audit facilitation. This position collaborates with the principals and upper management to continuously improve financial operations and reports to the Controller. As an expert in financial accounting, this role also helps to communicate and assist the team with accounting fundamentals for optimal outcomes, understanding and presentation to investment groups.

Location: Boise, ID (must be local for meetings, but will work remotely)
Compensation: $29.00-$32.00 per hour depending on experience
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Hours: 40 per week. Flexible with Core hours daily 9-4, Monday - Friday

- Executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls.
- Manages the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for the company.
- Oversee Accounts Payable functions and payment processes.
- Leads or assists with ad hoc analyses of the finances and prepares reports to facilitate decision making.
- Performs a variety of complex accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records, included sub-ledger detail.
- Identifies Aura Living client exceptions to the standard accounting processes and identify, in conjunction with business unit leadership, ways to gradually shift client’s expectations towards Aura Living’s standard practices.
- Works jointly with the principals, upper management, Regional Managers, Community Managers and other accounting staff to continuously improve efficacy or transitions of work.
- Analyzes and reports salient variances to RMs to provide to investment groups.
- Manage and drive month-end accounting duties with site staff.
- Manage Replacement Reserve requests.
- Oversees and facilitates audit requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or associate degree in business related curriculum coupled with relevant prior accounting experience.
- Prefer 3 years of accounting experience (cash management, inventory control and auditing experience a plus). Hospitality/property management industry experience a plus!
- Deep understanding of Finance and Accounting processes.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office, accounting software and knowledge of ResMan a plus. Proficiency in Excel is a requirement.
- Understanding of how to drive effective performance management.
- Facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication.
- Effective time management in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

- Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy.
