As an Application Developer 2, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and solutions specifically tailored to the needs of the institution. This position works under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Enterprise Applications.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Design, test and implement computer information systems and programs to enhance and support administrative business functions for the University.
- Document system configurations, customizations, and development processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party developers as needed for system enhancements or integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analysts, project managers, and system administrators to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Consult with customers on programming issues and problems.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of Unix, PL/SQL, HTML, Java, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems or related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position, or a combination of academic and work experience.
- Knowledge of Unix, C, PL/SQL, HTML, Java, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
