Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Clean, stock & set up exam rooms
- Identify and greet the patient and escort them to exam room
- Verify purpose of visit
- Take the medical history and record vital signs and weight, if applicable
- Take photos, when applicable
- Assist the Physician during examinations or procedures, when applicable
- Discusses with the patient any physician's orders and questions about surgeries, procedures or treatments when applicable
- Call in prescriptions, when applicable
- Prepares charts, pre-admission forms and consent forms
- Assist physician with completing paperwork for pathology, laboratory, ultrasound treatments and physical therapy, etc., including diagnostic coding and procedure coding
- Order and collect laboratory specimens and prepare for specimen pickup
- Sterilize instruments
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures complying with legal regulations
- Keeps supplies ready by inventory, stocking and placing orders
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma, or equivalent; College degree strongly preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience, preference will be given to those with dermatology, aesthetics, or plastic surgery experience
