Sales Trainee
The position of Sales Trainee will be part of Austin Powder's development program that will give this individual hands-on experience to gain knowledge of our industry, our customers and our organization. This program is designed around sales-oriented and professional development training to ensure that, once completed, the Trainee will be set up for success in a Sales Representative role within the organization. This opportunity will provide exposure to our field crews, sales, technology and business development.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Travel throughout the LLC to work with our blast crews to gain an understanding of our products and the applications in which they are used.
- Work with our Sales Representatives to interact with customers to gain understanding of needs and how the sales cycle and processes work within our organization.
- Shadow the Technology team to observe how they troubleshoot issues that occur on our bench.
- Mentor with our Business Development team to understand how various functions within the LLC impact the LLC's performance.
- Orient to our Mission, Vision and Values.
- Observe and learn from experienced Austin Powder team members.
- Participate in location meetings as well as LLC team meetings.
- Provide feedback to the Corporate Learning and Development/HR team on success of the rotational trainee program.
- Travel to our manufacturing sites to gain exposure to how are products are made.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Four-year degree is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, managers, and vendors.
- Possess a learning agile mindset and take the initiative to learn while in this rotational program.
- Must be computer literate in MS Office applications and proficient in Excel in order to analyze and summarize information as needed.
Work Environment
- Work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50#'s repeatedly when working with the blast crews.
- Ability to travel up to 50-75% throughout the LLC. Additionally, there may be times when this role will assist with projects or work in other LLC's
