Analyst - Infrastructure, Real Assets

Your new role

Due to our significant growth we are expanding our investment capabilities in New York, focusing on Infrastructure, Property, Private Debt and Private Equity. By joining our team in New York, you will have the opportunity to provide general analytical and transactional support to the Real Assets Team in transaction execution and asset management with a focus on Infrastructure (including Digital, Energy / Energy Transition and Transport / Logistics Infrastructure).

The role involves the ongoing pursuit and management of direct infrastructure investments across the Americas with a focus on the North American portfolio. The Investment Analyst will be integral to the effective execution of AustralianSuper’s Real Assets Portfolio Strategy by a small and passionate team of infrastructure professionals.

• New Investments 
  The role will support and undertake investment analytics for new investments which includes:
  • Researching, analyzing and evaluating a variety of Infrastructure sectors and direct investment opportunities.
  • Building complex dynamic financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, including assessment of returns, implementation of valuation methodologies, testing of assumptions and sensitivities.
  • Being the primary / secondary point of contact for the financial model workstream when undertaking due diligence for a new investment, with primary carriage of providing comments to external parties on the financial model and valuation outputs used for internal due diligence and valuation purposes.
  • Researching potential new markets or sectors within the Real Asset mandate.
     
• Asset Management
  Support and undertake the asset and portfolio management functions including: 
  • The execution and delivery of investment thesis, inclusive of value creation initiatives.
  • Analyzing historic and forecasting future performance of the Portfolio.

What you’ll need  

Culture is key at AustralianSuper and we are looking for someone who is a team player that enjoys working in a high performing collaborative team.

• Experience in either infrastructure investment banking, corporate development, fund or private equity.
• Sound knowledge of research, financial modelling and valuation principles and practices for unlisted infrastructure assets.
• Advanced use of MS Office products especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 

Pay transparency notice

The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $210,000 plus discretionary (this is based on full-time hours, located in New York City). The base pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience and refers to the amount AustralianSuper is willing to pay at the time of posting.
