Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing functions of inventory integrity, asset management and human resources in their assigned department within the distribution center during their assigned shift. The position is flexible and encompasses a variety of functions including stocking, picking and shipping. This position is also responsible for ensuring their department attains monthly and annual performance objectives set by management. This position will operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures during assigned shift
- Perform inventory controls and maintain high quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
- Meet with direct reports on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) to communicate company information including new initiatives, financial performance, goals and objectives, benchmarks and best practices
- Support the constant improvement in operational excellence through various methods including distribution center operations audits, policy and procedure reviews, and operations of the distribution center during assigned shift
- Provide training and tools, as needed, during assigned shift to ensure tasks, communication and feedback comply with guidelines and track compliance with company policies and procedures
- Identify improvement opportunities and recommend to leadership for consideration to implement the necessary tools and processes for the distribution center to efficiently operate, optimizing workload, profitability and productivity
- Utilize RF scanners to complete tasks
- Ensure stocking team accurately, efficiently, and neatly puts in-bound product on the shelves in the appropriate location
- Ensure picking team accurately, efficiently, and neatly picks product from the shelves to fulfill orders
- Ensure shipping team accurately, efficiently, and neatly consolidates product and packs out-bound orders to be shipped
- Must complete hazmat and/or forklift training; follow all safety regulations and protocols regarding material handling equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or related field is preferred
- 5 years of experience in Supply Chain is required
- 1 - 2 years of supervisor experience is preferred
- Experience with an auto parts distributor is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel are required
- Ability to communicate at every level of the organization
- Ability to exercise judgement and work independently is required

- Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage time
