POSITION SCOPE AND SUMMARY
Autobell is looking for a skilled full-stack web developer and designer to join our team to help raise the bar on creativity and user experiences. The Web developer is responsible for designing, coding, and supporting company websites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation, from layout to function. Creates and enhances the overall website appearance using graphic/multi-media design software and designs site navigation that is clear and easy to understand. Ensures sites remain scalable while complying with performance and security standards. Updates site content based on input from the marketing department and documents changes in source code. The ideal candidate is a talented developer with extensive technical expertise that is creative, accountable, analytical, and inquisitive. Must be able to collaborate with a team and work independently in creating, maintaining, and updating websites for customers and internal users. Proficiency in full-stack web development, WordPress, Node, Shopify, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and APIs is essential to succeeding in this role.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, codes, and supports multiple websites with user-friendly design and clear navigation, from layout to function.
- Create site layout/user interface using standard HTML/CSS practices.
- Writes well-designed, testable, and efficient code by using the best software development practices.
- Evaluates the website and identify any technical problems.
- Works with external vendors and developers to enhance existing websites and applications.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify and fix errors in code.
- Research new industry coding standards that can be used to improve the team’s ability to create secure, high-quality, high-performance applications.
- Works quickly and carefully to complete small edits, develop plans for completing larger projects, collaborate with team members, and suggest innovative solutions to improve/create websites.
- Performs UI designs and coding, creating reusable objects and templates, wireframes for web pages, and email templates; manages each design's maintenance, updates, expansions, and scaling.
- Maintains regular backups of website and application code for disaster recovery.
- Ensures software stability via regression, supports quality assurance, and performs unit and user-acceptance testing to identify bugs and ensure production operations run successfully.
- Meets regularly with business stakeholders and management to understand and refine business and functional requirements and determine project scopes and specifications.
- Develops and maintains strategic, operational systems, tools, and processes, including participation in tactical and strategic development projects.
- Contributes to the positive team efforts of the organization.
- Suggests better ways of accomplishing results.
