What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Operations position at Autocar, LLC?
JOB DUTIES: Manager of Operations positions with Autocar, LLC in Hagerstown, IN will achieve daily, weekly and monthly manufacturing operations targets. Achieve 90% daily schedule attainment and delivery to customer promised date. Achieve less than two Defects Per Unit (DPU). Maintain and achieve DPU <10 at end of production line/ PSI area. Achieve expected Hours Per Vehicle (HPV) productivity outcomes established annually (with YOY improvement) including third party contributions, reduction by 50% vs. prior year. Achieve Operational Excellence recognition (based on the Shingo model). Build commitment among stakeholders by using “their language” and inspiring them. Set up clear objectives and key measures of change in the context of various cultural and corporate specifications. Manage skills and transformational activity alignment (e.g., matching of talent to change initiatives). Design and implement the right behaviours according to the key area of change. Work alongside industrial engineering on ramp-up, facility requirements, and warehousing support. Ensure usage of enabling technologies and workflow. Achieve safety requirement of zero recordables. Enhance supplier quality process to support production. Participate in achieving 90% invoicing and RTS with five days from end of line.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, and at least 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience in automotive engineering. Stated experience must include at least 3 years of experience in each of the following: working in a manufacturing environment for motor vehicles, or for industrial, heavy duty, or custom-engineered products; working with lean principles and strategic planning; executing organization change plans and delivering results, including operations transformations; working with data analysis and performance/operation metrics; working with the “shop-floor,” including actively working with operations teams; and working with budgeting, costing, and accounting principles relevant to manufacturing industry.
