Shipping Lead
To successfully lead and coordinate activities of a department and its employees. To support the Department Supervisor/Manager in ASPC’s lean efforts to become a World Class manufacturing company. Be committed to continuous improvement. Dedicated to meeting the needs and exceeding expectations of our internal and external customers. Reports to the Shipping Supervisor and or the Materials Manager, depending on location/shift.
- OUTCOMES
- Provide day-to-day leadership for the shipping team members.
- Follow direction from supervisor(s) or manager regarding daily shipments, priorities, and projects.
- ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day first-line leadership for assigned department personnel.
- Leads and coordinates production needs for daily shipments.
- Assists team members with any issues or problems that may occur.
- Assists shipping supervisor and production control to meet on time customer requirements.
- Responsible for general housekeeping, 5-S and supporting continuous improvement.
- Timely and professionally responds to emails.
- Assists shipping supervisor with the training and development of shipping associates.
- Develops and fosters teamwork, leads by example, and works with other leads during shift change.
- Must be able to cover all positions under the shipping, receiving and outside processing umbrella.
- Assists supervisor(s)/plant manager in ensuring that safety and company guidelines are followed, and disciplinary actions are administered appropriately.
- Is the leader of departmental cycle counting.
- Bring cost saving ideas to supervisor.

- QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum one year experience in leadership role within a manufacturing environment; preferably automotive.
- Minimum 1 year shipping and receiving experience.
- Forklift driving experience.
