AUTOMOTIVE CONTROLLER

Experienced Automotive Controller needed in the Pensacola, FL market for a stable family owned dealership. Experience as a Controller in a new car dealership is required to be considered for this role. The current Controller has been in the role for several years and is going to be transitioning to a new role within the dealer which is why this rare opportunity is available. This is a great long-term opportunity as the dealer is looking for the next long-term automotive Controller to lead their accounting department for years to come. Great staff in place, clean books, and turn-key operation. Must be experienced in closing out the month-end at a new car dealership and be able to prepare, and submit, the monthly financial statement to the factory. It is important that the automotive Comptroller hired is ethical, honest, and has a proven track record in automotive accounting. More so, it is important that this person is a clear communicator and someone who promotes a positive work-place culture as this is a low turnover dealership with a positive reputation they are looking to uphold. This person will be responsible to oversee a strong accounting team, including a strong Office Manager. Experience on Dealertrack is a big plus. This position will report directly to the Dealer Principal. Serious relocation candidates, with high level automotive accounting experience, will be considered for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the financial activities of the dealership
• Prepare and submit the monthly financial statement; own the month-end close process
• Develop and maintain accurate financial records
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management
• Prepare financial reports and present them to management
• Provide financial guidance to management and assist in decision-making
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
• Oversee and implement financial policies and procedures
• Manage the accounting team and provide leadership, guidance, and training
• Review and approve financial transactions
• Maintain effective communication with management and other departments
• Maintain regular communication with the Dealer Principal on the standings of the dealership, cost saving measures, and any issues that may require their attention

Compensation:

• Compensation in the 125k-150k range based on experience and track record.

Relocation Candidates:

• Serious relocation candidates will be considered for this role. Must have experience as an Automotive Controller within a new car dealership within the United States.
