INVENTORY CLERK
FACILITY MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
At the Uvalde Proving Grounds we test Continental Tires on an approximately 5,000- acre site with 26-Test Tracks and ten different departments. Our Facility Maintenance
Department is responsible for maintaining all facility buildings, track and grounds maintenance, and all facility equipment on-site.
Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working Inventory Clerk to join our Facility
Maintenance Dept. Must have prior experience working in a parts/inventory environment. The Inventory Clerk’s responsibilities include managing all the parts or products, including recording new items in their stock room. Each item is to be tracked as it enters the Facility Maintenance Dept through records of what has been ordered, what has been utilized, and where those items go on the shelves. Ultimately, you will be responsible for the inventory of all parts and products that come-in or leave the department.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintaining and updating records
- Counting materials, parts, equipment, or supplies in stock
- Reporting discrepancies between physical counts and computer records
- Distributing or stocking parts and supplies
- Receive and inventory stock
- Manage and control the working stock of parts
- Obtain quotes and place orders for required parts and stock items
- Change inventory status based on MIN/MAX requirements
- Interact with Facility Maintenance Service Technicians regarding parts requirements
- Ensure that other employees have the supplies, parts, or products they need to complete their assigned Work Orders
- Ensure that inventory is always correct
Job Requirements and Skills
- Proven work experience as a Parts/Inventory Clerk or similar role
- Excellent math and analytical skills
- Very detail oriented
- BE A TEAM PLAYER and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be trained to operate a forklift or possess a valid forklift operator certificate
- Possess a valid Texas driver’s license
- Have a clean driving record
- Must be a minimum of 21-years of age or older (company insurance requirement for driving company vehicles)
- Must prove legal eligibility to work in the United States of America
- Possess excellent computer skills with the ability to learn our Inventory Systems.
Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. is preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Customer Service experience is preferred
- Ability to Learn, Understand, and Demonstrate skills learned during training on a consistent basis
- Must speak, read, and write English
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting depending on the situation
- Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders throughout the day
- Possess the physical strength to be able to LIFT Heavy Items up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, twist, and kneel when required on a regular basis
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull as required
