What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Engineer (CMDB) position at AutoZone?
SUMMARY
AutoZone is looking for an experienced CMDB Engineer to be part of their growing team! Responsible for identifying opportunities to automate IT operational tasks, implementing solutions, and driving performance to reduce impact and risk of traditionally manual processes that include planned jobs, root cause remediation, preventative work, and other labor-intensive efforts. You will be challenged to solve complex technical problems with unique solutions, identify improvements and work on implementing your recommendations.

- Ensure that sites and systems continuously and consistently run smoothly, optimally, efficiently and reliably

- Work with MicroFocus uCMDB configuration, SACM, discovery, ITIL processes
- Work with other team members to implement new integrations and data import automation and processes
- Develop the organization's expertise in the Configuration Management processes
- Plan, manage and coordinate the full lifecycle in a high interoperability IT environment
- Empower CMDB users to utilize and leverage the CMDB database and associated processes
- Work with problem managers to identify and meet opportunities within the CMDB to avoid repeat occurrences and improve future impact analysis
- Provides technical support and problem resolution for customer inquiries regarding the new and existing data analytics, policy, process, standards, and best practices related to configuration management
- Document processes, follow all ITIL requirements for implementation
- Develop and maintain production automation systems, tools and processes to support broad deployment of operational jobs/scripts as needed across the organization
- Delegate work to other less experienced engineers and provide coaching / mentorship
- Accurate work planning and execution; accurate project and time tracking
What We Would Like to See:
- At least 5 years of direct experience in support of IT configuration management efforts
- Experience with uCMDB and HP/Microfocus tools is required
- Experience with SOAP, REST API, JAVA, SQL and scripting (Shell, Python) is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Significant attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical skills
