What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Specialist (Scrum Master) position at AutoZone?
We are looking for an experienced Systems Specialist who'd be passionate to join AutoZone's Retail Acceleration program on a mission to evolve technology within our 6k retail locations. You will provide strategic guidance to teams in ways that promote the company’s culture.
While our project managers naturally need to excel at stakeholder communication, it’s important to stress that your work here will greatly affect a lot of internal teams. You will need to constantly challenge yourself and the team to invest in self-serve capabilities, or you won’t be able to scale your offering to meet the organization’s need. Being able to always have up to date information about our content, including proactive alerts for things we care about, is key to several internal teams’ success – putting additional emphasis on your ability to prioritize requirements and coordinate dependencies across multiple parallel projects and time zones.
The goal is to ensure that all program deliverables are the desired outcome to our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects
- Decide on suitable strategies and objectives
- Coordinate cross-project activities
- Lead and evaluate project managers/scrum masters and other staff
- Develop and control deadlines, budgets, and activities
- Apply change risk and resource management
- Assume responsibility for the programs team and vendors
- Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI
- Defining the program governance (controls)
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Planning the overall program and monitoring the progress;
- Managing the program’s budget;
- Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements;
- Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies;
- Managing and utilizing resources across projects;
- Managing stakeholders’ communication;
- Aligning the deliverables (outputs) to the program’s “outcome” with the aid of the business change manager; and
- Managing the main program documentation such as the program initiation document.
- Resolve projects’ higher scope issues
- Prepare reports for program directors
- Capture KPIs and effectively communicate to stakeholders
- Planning and managing the realization of the benefits through the integration of the new capability within the business practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science, or a relevant field required
- Typically requires 2-3 years’ experience based on consistently demonstrated capabilities
- Requires proven experience as a Program Manager or other project managerial position
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, working knowledge of program/project management software (Basecamp, MS Project, etc.) is a strong advantage
- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability, relevant domain an analytical skill.
