We are excited to announce that we are looking for a dental assistant to join our busy practice in the beautiful mountain town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We have an amazing team who is excited to welcome a new staff member into our expanding practice.
We are looking for a part-time to full-time dental assistant and are offering a salaried position at very competitive pay (experience dependent), fully paid medical insurance, free dental care for the employee and immediate family members, paid vacation time, and a retirement plan. We are seeking a qualified and caring dental assistant to join our team, who will provide top-notch dental care that makes our clients feel like family. Candidates should ideally have at least one year of dental assisting experience, but we are willing to do on the job training for the right candidate.
The individual must possess a high level of customer service and empathy. A comfort level with technology and the clinical workflow of dental practice are key skills needed. You will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, and help the dentist during patient examinations and other dental procedures. Between patients, you will clean exam rooms and replenish supplies. When not working with patients, you will also assist with administrative tasks, including answering phones and organizing patient records as needed.
Dental Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
- Gather patient information and health background
- Prepare the work area for procedures
- Take x-rays of patients’ teeth when necessary and display results for the dentist
- Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures
- Prepare materials for crowns or dental impressions
- Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits
- Restock treatment areas and monitor inventory
Dental Assistant Requirements and Qualifications
- 1 years of dental assisting experience (a plus)
- X-ray certification (a plus)
- Current BLS and CPR certification (a plus)
- Excellent understanding of dental procedures
- Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
