What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Busser position at Avanti Food & Beverage?
Avanti Food & Beverage in Boulder, on 14th and Pearl St, is hiring full and part-time bussers. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for setting and cleaning tables, patio, and lounge areas throughout the shift. This position supports servers and other staff with water service and clearing tables, taking recycling/composting/trash out, replenishing silverware and napkins, keeping the restrooms tidy, etc. Assists with the setup of large parties and communicating which areas of the building are ready to be seated in order to assure a smooth guest experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the front of the house including all tables, chairs, floors, service stations, restrooms, vendor counter/utensil areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service and bus station(s). Refills water at both tables and service stations
- Communicate and assist hosts to set up and break down tables as customer requests are received
- Refill waters upon the request of the customer or server.
- Remove dirty dishes, silverware, and any debris from tables throughout the experience
- Return dirty dishes, silverware, and glassware carefully to the dishwashing and/or bar area
- Check restrooms on a routine schedule to maintain cleanliness. Reports any restroom problems to management immediately
- Assist with spills throughout the restaurant to assure customer safety
- Leave the restaurant in a clean condition prior to the end of the shift
- Assist customers with inquiries or as needed
- Remove trash and breaks down boxes for the bar
- Perform other duties as assigned by a manager
- Previous bar and/or restaurant experience required (High volume preferred)
- Must have a High School diploma or GED
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism when interacting with guests and dealing with guest complaints
- Ability to monitor and anticipate guests’ needs and respond accordingly in an effort to maintain a positive and enjoyable dining experience
- Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Outgoing personality and friendly disposition are highly desirable
