Material Handler
Overview: Avanti Window and Doors is a busy, rapidly expanding plant and we are looking for a Material Handler who can receive paperwork, load, unload and someone who can lift materials as well.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Must be able to lift 40lbs alone.
- Must be safe and exhibit the ability to be a self-starter and work under deadlines.
- Ability to comprehend receiving paperwork.
- Report shortages, damages and mis-shipments timely
- Unload shipments safely and move product to proper storage locations.
- Ensure that the correct number and type of product is received.
- Transport raw material to correct departments within the plant using a forklift.
- Assist in monthly physical inventories and frequent cycle counts.
- Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Complete paperwork as necessary
- Repack, re-box and/or label product when needed.
- Help keep warehouse clean, neat and organized.
Ideal candidate will have:
- Forklift experience and certification required.
- Minimum one year experience in inventory/warehouse work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while still meeting deadlines and maintaining safe practices.
- Efficient, accurate and reliable work habits, punctual, problem solving, and willingness to learn.
- High energy, self-starter and a team player
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. alone and endure constant bending, lifting and physical labor.
- Communicate professionally with team members and management.
- Construction and warehouse experience preferred but not required.
