Position Overview

Avantus Federal seeks a Proposal Manager to join a growing proposal and growth organization. The Proposal Manager will bring a proven track record of successfully leading proposals to solve the challenging missions across the government market. This role will lead a full range of proposal activities from pre-RFP preparation through submitting winning proposals. Working closely with other internal stakeholders, this role will lead proposal management and proposal writing.

• Drive the proposal process to meet milestones per corporate processes
• Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors
• Set schedules, lead efforts, guide writing, creating compliant and compelling proposals

• Write and edit in support of the overall proposal effort

• Engage with Capture Managers, Delivery SMEs, and Solution Architects to craft proposal strategy and develop compelling messaging to show the strengths and discriminators of the Avantus offering
• Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and collections
• Ensure proposal submissions are compliant with applicable RFP/RFQ instructions, compelling with the story of our solution and discriminators, and meet company proposal best practices
• Review solicitation requirements and recommends response strategy
• Ability to identify and collaborate with teaming partners.
• Assist in managing our SharePoint-based proposal management system
• Ability to track and manage multiple proposals simultaneously

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of experience managing all phases and components of federal Government proposals
• Experience writing professional services and technology-centric proposals
• Desire to succeed in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving business organization with the ability/ willingness to work extended hours to meet dynamically changing needs and delivery schedules
• Knowledge of Federal procurement processes, standard solicitation instructions, and proposal development methods
• Proficiency in SharePoint
• Excellent writer and editor
• Strong Microsoft Word skills (including templates, styles, macros) and desktop publishing.
• The status of applicable COVID-19 vaccination requirements under Executive Order 14042 are subject to change depending on applicable court orders and the course of ongoing litigation. Candidates may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved exemption

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; will accept work experience in lieu of degree
• Advanced, adaptive writing skills with a strong orientation towards clarity, completeness, and compliance.
• The capacity to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to give and receive candid feedback in an open, results-oriented environment
• Ability to independently resolve issues and promptly escalate larger issues
