Avco Commercial Roofing is seeking a highly motivated finance professional with construction experience.
The individual in this role will function as a key player to the success of the company’s mission with responsibility for accounting and finance operations.
This position will be responsible for preparing financial statements; applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and proper accounting to revenues, investments, deferred liabilities, and other complex components and transactions; analyzing financial statements and other financial information; preparing budgets and forecasts; and assisting with cash management, income, and other taxes, account reconciliations, journal entries, financing activities, and general accounting functions and compliance.
The responsibilities of the position will include, but will not be limited to:
- Oversee a portfolio of assets, budgeting, accounting, and cash management to ensure accurate reporting, interpretation, and analysis of financial results in conjunction with forecasts and long-range plans.
- Implements proper financial reporting to determine monthly and annual financial targets.
- Manages and supports the preparation of the annual consolidated corporate audit and tax returns in conjunction with our professional accounting firm.
- Establishes and maintains controls to safeguard company assets; documents and recommends improvements to internal financial policies and procedures.
- Oversees and approves the completion of timely financial statements and reports on transactions and/or information requests from lenders and investors.
- Manages and monitors the Assets’ cash flow operational capital needs.
- Understand and manage job costing
- Own the Month/ Year end Accounting processes.
- Manage the accounting staff on day-to-day operations that includes, but is not limited to, month/year-end close accounts receivable & payable, financial reports, payroll, invoicing, cash receipts, and disbursements.
- Drives the annual budget process
- Effectively leads the finance/accounting team by developing and coaching existing team and by hiring and retaining top-grade talent
- Develop meaningful reports and KPIs to help drive the business
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting/finance
- 4-year college degree in accounting or finance
- Construction Experience
- Knowledge of Sage 300 (Timberline) software a plus
- Excellent leadership and management skills
