Commercial Production Manager
Responsible for overseeing the Avco Commercial Roofing’s Production Department. Direct Supervisor for Commercial Project Managers, Project Superintendents, Crew Foreman and Crew, Service Manager, Service Foreman and Service Technicians. Directs and manages two separate areas: Commercial Construction (Re-Roofs, Overlays, Retrofits, etc.), and Service (Roofing Maintenance and Repair).
Ensures departmental efficiency to maintain and increase project profit margins. Holds employees, installers and subcontractors to AVCO Quality and Specification Standards. Oversees the growth of the department through staffing increases and knowledge/skills development, ensuring the production capacity to achieve Sales Goals.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the installation of AVCO’s commercial (and occasionally residential) roofing/construction projects.
- Provides leadership to department employees, encourages core characteristics of teamwork, efficiency, and good customer service.
- Encourages an environment of team first, mission second. Promotes good employee morale in the workplace.
- Oversees the department’s goals and production.
- Supervises direct reports, completes employee evaluations and continues employee growth and personal development.
- Oversees Project Managers, who determine the materials required for each project and devises delivery schedules to ensure structural timber, shingles, membrane, insulation material, guttering, fascias, etc. are available when needed.
- Researches technical questions, develops special details and communicates technical requirements to crews, project managers, etc.
- Oversees the Commercial Production Schedule.
- Reviews contracts and scopes of work; oversees change orders and payment applications as needed.
- Makes regular visits to company projects.
- Supervises install teams and inspects the quality of work to ensure standards are met.
- Monitors weather specific to all project locations, ensuring work is completed safely and leak-free.
- Ensures departmental compliance with all safety guidelines.
- Prepares and delivers reports detailing the progress of all work.
- Maintains required certifications and continuing educations.
- Maintains profit margins while ensuring product quality.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience Project or Production Management
- 4-year college degree in accounting or finance
- Construction Experience
- Knowledge of CRMs
- Excellent leadership and management skills
