Client Executive

Avergent, LLC
Green Bay, WI Full Time
POSTED ON 6/29/2022 CLOSED ON 7/6/2022

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Executive position at Avergent, LLC?

Role: Client Executive

You can work anywhere, so why Avergent? Fair question.

We’re a small team in Green Bay with a big vision. If you believe employer health plans need transformation, and you want to be part of the solution, read on.

Rising insurance premiums and deductibles is not sustainable. Over 25% of Americans have more than $10,000 in medical debts leading to bankruptcy in this country, we can’t keep doing the same thing.

Our clients can see their Plan costs reduce 10-40% while reducing or removing deductibles and offering access to many healthcare services for $0. That’s anything but status quo.

That’s why Avergent exists: to educate, empower and equip employers to transform healthcare in
America. When we talk transformation, we mean getting patients and plan members access to the very best healthcare at the most affordable price. Health Plans that do this will be part of freeing up plan members to not only afford healthcare but take their hard-earned money and fulfill their own version of the American Dream.

Excited yet?

Before we get to the role, its important that you know we’re anything but your status quo organization. We’ve all been doing this long enough to know what’s important to each of us personally and professionally and we’re able to realize that every day. Interestingly enough, our unofficial inner office motto is “I don’t care.” But we’ll get to that later. What we DO care deeply about, is helping our clients and their members find a better way to receive high quality, “hand-on- the-shoulder” healthcare. In fact, it’s our mission to educate our clients and their members, giving them tools so they are empowered to step away from health care that’s been choking and bankrupting businesses and families for decades.

POSITION

So where does the Client Executive fit in?

Avergent Clients are employers who are progressive and looking for transformation. They’re looking for a better way to do benefits.

As the Client Executive, your primary objectives will be to architect the strategic plan for a Client’s transformation, oversee the implementation of the plan and ensure the monthly optimization meets the performance objectives. Leveraging our operational support, innovation and risk management resources, you will be the primary owner of the Client relationship. The Client’s needs will of course specifically change depending on their benefits plan but will generally have the same objectives as all Avergent clients. As such, your goal will be to guide the Client, their leadership and team in achieving a high-performing, world-class experience with a “hand-on-the-shoulder”.

So what does this mean for you?

  • You will own the success of our Client benefit plans. Throughout the Plan year, they will look to you to guide and direct regular success meetings, establish timelines for plan initiatives, evaluate performance of the Plan and identify optimization opportunities.
  • You will be the chief coordinator for the Avergent team to achieve our Client’s success.

That will mean understanding all of the resources available through the Avergent team and its partners then orchestrating the resources to deliver.

  • You will act as the primary liaison for new client onboarding. As soon as employers indicate interest in hiring Avergent, you will be introduced to guide that transition.
  • You will be the subject matter expert when it comes to Avergent’s suite of benefit offerings, including its own proprietary care management program, Collaborative Care. As such, it will be your job to identify Client objectives, suit a strategic plan to those needs and coordinate the team’s resources to deliver that plan.

Here’s what we’d like you to have attitude, skills and experience in:

  • Insurance Benefits: 5 years in the self-funded health plan space is a requirement. While

Avergent offers a full array of fully insured benefit options, many of our employers choose us to implement self-funded health plan strategies. Your knowledge of stop loss, SummaryPlan Documents, medical and pharmacy benefits management will be crucial to success.

  • Health Rosetta: while we don’t expect you to be an expert in Health Rosetta principles, your interest in learning how these best practices have been employed across the country will be a must. Moreover, understanding the wealth of knowledge in this industry trade group available to Avergent, will be key to how you succeed in helping our clients succeed.
  • Project Management: This position requires attention to detail, expert operational knowledge of self-funded health plans and the ability to lead teams and vendor partners in achieving plan objectives. Must have demonstrable experience.
  • Communication: your ability to understand issues with active listening, troubleshoot root cause, and communicate with multiple parties will be the key to your success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. The ability to facilitate and run client meetings will be required.
  • Medical & Insurance Billing: knowledge of how medical billing and claim filing is key to identifying opportunities for savings.
  • Analytical Capabilities: Solid mathematical aptitude with ability to quantify impact and ROI of initiatives; strong technical skills, business intelligence, and experience reviewing claims data to troubleshoot risk management opportunities. This will also include reviewing contract language for stop loss and service agreements.
  • Compliance: An understanding of employer annual compliance requirements under ERISA,

PPACA and other legislation is preferred. We have resources and partners to support client compliance. This role must understand these annual requirements and coordinate the successful completion of these requirements.

  • Technology: Above average skill with Microsoft Excel, Word are preferred. The ability to learn other software systems (HelpScout, Zoho) quickly will be required.
  • Process Improvement: as a 3 year old company, you’re coming into an environment that highly values process improvement. We’re looking for someone who demonstrates and values continuous improvement. Demonstrable experience here will be preferred.
  • Attitude: we want passionate, humble, caring individuals. Our team gets results because of this. Demonstrable experience is a requirement.

And lastly – why we DON’T care.
If you join the Avergent Team, know you were hired to do a job and we trust you’ll get it done. We don’t care if you can’t get into the office until 10am. We don’t care if you need to work from home one day. We don’t care if you work from the garage while they fix your car. You don’t need to justify a day off. You don’t need to explain that your child is sick, and you need to leave early.
You don’t need to apologize for having a personal life. We’re all human. We’re all adults. We’re a team. We don’t run an adult daycare center.
If you want to be heard, and contribute meaningfully to the team, Avergent exists for you. If you act relentlessly and resourcefully in your day-to-day life, Avergent exists for you. Avergent fosters a culture of maximizing the potential of our team, delivers win-win solutions, prioritizes progress over perfection, embraces skinned knees learning from our failures and moving forward and engages in healthy conflict in the spirit of transparency and transformation.
