HUMAN FACTORS SPECIALIST
Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in Systems Integration, Product Design/Development and Software/Product Testing for highly regulated industries including Digital Health, Medical Devices, IT and Aerospace. We are currently seeking a qualified Human Factors Specialist to work on leading edge technology products. The successful candidate for this position will be a part of highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.Location: Peterborough, ON
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the execution of operating experience reviews, functional requirements analysis, task analysis, human error analysis, making human factors design recommendations as well as verification and/or acceptance of other Human Factors Analyst work.
- Assessing the required level of Human Factors Engineering involvement based on project scope.
- Developing Human Factors Engineering Program Plans.
- Applying the knowledge of hardware and software controls, displays, annunciations and evaluations of interactions between the Human System Interface and the User(s).
- Documenting analysis results in Human Factors Engineering Summary Reports.
- Supporting the development of Human Factors Engineering Verification and Validation Plans.
- Performing and documenting design verification and validation activities.
- Providing input to the creation of proposals which focus on or include Human Factors Engineering scope.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Human Factors Engineering, Engineering Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related science with a focus on Human Factors coursework.
- Must have 5 years, & a qualified Human Factors Specialist.
- P.Eng. or eligibility to obtain in near future.
- Demonstrable experience in Human Factors Design, in regulated, high consequence industries such as Nuclear, Aerospace, Defense, Oil and Gas and Medical.
- Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills.
- Ability to effectively interface with project team members, vendors and customers to ensure scope and requirements of the project are understood, and to ensure the project is executed per the project schedule and budget.
- Active membership within a recognized Human Factors/Ergonomics society (e.g., HFES, ACE) is a good to have.
- General understanding of Engineering Change Control (ECC) concepts for the nuclear industry or other industries is a good to have.
