What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Analyst position at Avery Dennison?
The Inventory Analyst prepares business related analyses and research for Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Logistics. The individual prepares forecasts, analyzes trends related to Distribution and Warehousing, Inventory Control, and Planning/Scheduling and uses the analyses to compile and prepare reports, graphs and charts of data and/or ensure efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting production and financial information to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Assist with the transactional functions of receiving within the manufacturing location.
- Prepare operational cycle count schedules.
- Measure inventory accuracy through cycle count adherence and completion.
- Analyze material requirements by determining the accuracy of on-hand materials (perpetual inventory = on hand inventory).
- Develop and implement material management plans that improve the production and inventory of products in order to enhance product flow.
- Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
- Monitor inventory and analyze requirements in order to develop strategies.
- Maintain appropriate records and prepare reports.
- Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in manufacturing, shipping, and receiving.
- Participate or lead process effectiveness and continuous improvement projects.
- Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
- Implement lean concepts and continuous improvements regarding Service, Materials and Logistics (SM&L) systems and processes.
- Prepare SM&L research and analysis for use in the development of business strategies and tactic
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred.- 4 - 5 years SM&L experience.
- High level of computer proficiency required. (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Oracle ERP, etc.)
- Ability to conduct research, prepare comprehensive reports and present complex statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion.
- High degree of commitment, initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, facilitate meetings, and influence others.
- Ability to work well under pressure, while recognizing and addressing systemic issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to use ELS problem solving tools to identify root cause, including A3 Thinking, or other lean methodology.
- Self motivated, results driven individual with a proven track record of process implementation.
Preferred Requirements
- APICS certification preferred.
