The Avery Hotel and Brasserie is the redevelopment of a Boise landmark into a 39-room boutique hotel, fine-dining restaurant, intimate bar, and gastropub that combines unique old-world charm with contemporary appeal.

The vision for The Avery is driven by an energetic and creative ownership group, including hospitality veteran and acclaimed Chef, Cal Elliott who has achieved exceptional success with his restaurants in New York, including recognition from the New York Times, the Michelin Guide, the Food Network and Travel Channel. Cal and Ashley Elliott, own and operate Boise’s Little Pearl, and their experience as restaurant operators at the highest level is an enormous asset to the ongoing appeal and success of the hotel and restaurant.

Located in Boise’s historic Gem Block among some of the city’s most popular shopping, restaurants, and music venues, The Avery Brasserie will draw inspiration from the classic French brasserie, with ambiance that enchants guests and a seasonal menu led by celebrated Michelin-starred Chef Cal Elliott. Tiner’s Alley with its entrance from the alleyway, is an intimate tavern offering classic English fare and libations served across a historic Brunswick bar.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

• Excellent customer service skills and an open, courteous and friendly personality required.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Must have working knowledge of using and programming multi-line telephone equipment and reservation systems.

• Must be able to type efficiently (at least 50 wpm), using word processing

• Must be able to efficiently handle multiple tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks and providing excellent member service.

• Knowledge and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Provide an exceptional guest experience by offering friendly and prompt service, property knowledge, and use of reservation system and phone lines.

Job Tasks/Duties

• Answers the telephone; create reservation and answer general questions of menus, location, and hours of operation

• Greet and thank all guests

• Assists in seating members and guests in applicable dining room

• Informs FOH staff when a member or guest is seated in their section

• Adheres to and seats according to floor chart created by management

• Maintains supply of property information for guests

• May perform general office work such as word processing, filing and operating copy and fax machines.

• Works on special projects as assigned

• Maintains supply inventories for reception area

• Performs other duties required by the manager on duty

• operate front desk, lobby or other areas

• assists service staff with appropriate side work

• greet job applicants filling out applications

• control traffic flow in lobby or reception area; turn on music in lobby and reception area

• maintain appearance of reception area

• manage a “lost and found” program

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand and lift up to 40 pounds.

• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
