Job Description
Job Title: Senior Cost Analyst
Location: Monroe, North Carolina - Flexible work-from-home days (3 days onsite – 2 days wfh)
Overview:
As a Sr. Cost Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting in the subject areas of operational rate development & maintenance, cost planning, analysis, month-end reporting and inventory transactions at client's Monroe, NC Bakers facility. This role's primary focus is to be the accounting/finance leader for the facility to help and support in decisions being made as well as driving month end close. This position will also be involved in process improvement and project-based work.
A successful Sr. Cost Analyst will quickly grasp client's business culture and processes, be able to work independently with minimal oversight in a matrixed environment and possess a strong continuous improvement mindset.
Other Responsibilities:
- Be the "go-to" person at the facility for any financial information or analysis that is required.
- Monitor inventory batches and resolve any variances as they progress through the facility ensuring the proper accounting treatment of inventory through the manufacturing process.
- Assist in the annual planning process for variable and fixed costs as well as the department expense budgets.
- Assist with month-end closing activities
- Site lead for annual physical inventory count and provide support for cycle count program
- Work with plant finance people to understand cost variances and work toward driving total cost down.
- Generate monthly financial reporting and analytics to be reviewed with operations
- Partner with operations to analyze, track and report cost saving initiatives
- Calculate ROI and financial impacts for capital projects and major maintenance
- Perform periodic evaluations of labor and overhead rates
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting/cost experience preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Previous experience with inventory transactions
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or CMA preferred
- Accounting experience for a multi-location, midsize to large company
- Background in process manufacturing Understanding of inventory transactions
- ERP experience in a manufacturing setting (Oracle experience a plus)
- SQL experience
- Previous project management experience
