Overview
- Implement and manage cost effective, high performance, highly available, secure and scalable enterprise storage solutions including SAN (NetApp, HP) storage systems, Backup & Recovery (Veritas and Rubrik) and hyper-converged infrastructure technologies.
- Monitor and optimize enterprise-wide storage platforms to ensure availability and capacity to meet business needs.
- Work collaboratively with other Data Center teams to provide storage solutions to meet business requirements.
- Analyze and resolve problems involving interaction between applications, server hardware/firmware/OS and storage by working with cross functional teams and equipment vendors.
- Support enterprise storage systems by responding to incidents, restoring service quickly, and investigating root causes for outages and maintaining incident logs.
- Troubleshoot issues directly or indirectly related to storage systems from an end-to-end perspective.
- Manage physical on-premise and cloud storage; Compute infrastructure ensuring that hardware and software is compliant with company standards.
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure platforms on strategies, plans, designs, configuration standards, metrics.
- Lead a team of SAN administrators of varying skill sets, maintaining day-to-day operations, which include work scheduling, verifying and signing timesheets, and completing performance reviews.
- Strong communication skills, strong documentation skills, and the proven ability to work in a consultative role to include requirements gathering, solution design, documentation, and training.
- Participate in root cause analysis for significant problems and suggests clear recommendations for improvements.
- Available to team/management/customers for any issues during on-call schedule for whole week (day & night).
- This is an onsite position.
- Security Clearance Required: DoD Secret with the ability to obtain a Top Secret
- 5 Years overall IT experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance preferred Security certification
- Competency with HP Enterprise Storage Arrays
- Strong competency with NETAPP Storage systems. (FAS8200, AFF A200, AFF A300/A700 Cluster)
- Experience in administering NetAPP Storage systems on Data ONTAP.
- Strong competency with BROCADE switches
- Strong competency with RUBRIK Backup systems
- Knowledge of VERITAS
- Understanding of Deduplication
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere Systems
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating System
- Knowledge of Networking
- Knowledge of Data ONTAP version 9.x
- Knowledge of Data Protection systems (backend backup systems, protocols and SLAs)
- Proficient in Administering and Storage Provisioning in multi-vendor OS environment including Solaris, RedHat Linux, and Windows
- Desired Skills
- Scripting using NetApp CLI commands
- Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred
